Services

One area we have stumbled across with reagrds to having a child born with EA/TEF is the lack of face-to-face support systems as we go through very trying times.   Our hope is to establish State Liaison's who can handle incoming requests for an EA/TEF parent who wishes to become a Family Partner and matching those requests with an EA/TEF family within their town/state looking to be matched with a Family Partner.

While it is wonderful that we have so many on-line support systems, it is always extremely helpful to be able to meet another family going through the same aspects as you.  Someone you can physically meet and talk to, who can help provide insight and comfort, as well as form a bond for their children in the year's to come.

Please note that ALL services are provided on a volunteer basis by members of the EA/TEF community.

We hope Family Partners will help bring much needed support to families.

Thank you!

  • State Liaison

The State Liaison would be responsible for incoming request for their state for those interested in becoming a Family Parnter and for those families in need of a Family Partner.  The State Liaison would review incomomg Family Partner requests and match that family with a Family Partner in their area.  The State Liaison would also assist in compiling resources/links specific to their state that would be useful for families trying to navigate the complexities of the system and understanding the outlying factors related to EA/TEF.

To complete the request to become a State Liaison, click the title above link or go to the page titled "Become a State Liaison".

  • Family Partner

A Family Partner would be an EA/TEF parent whose child is at least 1 year of age at the time of requesting to become a family partner.   The State Liaison will contact the Family Partner when a request is received for the need of a Family Partner.  ALL Family Partner informaiton is strictly confidential and will only be held by the State Liaison for the purpose of matching the FP with a new EA/TEF family.  The State Liaison will not give out FP info, but rather will contact the FP with the new Family Partner request.  The FP in turn will contact the new family.  Such contact may result in face-to-face support, telephone support, help in getting the family connected with resources, etc.

“I certainly don't regret my experiences because without them, I couldn't imagine who or where I would be today. Life is an amazing gift to those who have overcome great obstacles, and attitude is everything!” Sasha Azevedo
